1969 was the year Apollo 11 astronauts took their historic first steps on the moon. It was also the year the founders of what would eventually become Consolidated Human Resources (CHR) took their first steps into HR outsourcing. They opened the nation’s first professional employer organization (PEO) to handle transportation and warehousing labor relations for small and midsize businesses (SMBs).
In the 1990s, the need for the organization’s expertise took off as the Clinton Administration added more workplace rules and regulations. Clients including TransModal, Marathon Enterprises (Sabrett), and Donahue Gironda Doria & Tomkins found tremendous time and money savings by working with our team. Many of our clients from that time still work with us to this day.
Evolving the HR Outsourcing Model
Fast forward to 2001, when CHR evolved towards the administrative services only (ASO) model to better support our client base. Today, as a third-generation family business, we continue to specialize in companies with one to 5,000 employees, helping them reduce the complexity and risks associated with managing their hiring, onboarding, time management, payroll, 401(k), healthcare, compliance, and insurance.
